Adaptive Campus Launches New Web Site for the Education Marketer Community

Needham, MA, June 13, 2007 - Adaptive Campus has recently launched a web site to support the education marketer community. Marketingineducation.org is designed to form a central support resource for our community. Professionals in education marketing are encouraged to contribute to this web site as we continue to add resources and tools. If you already have an Adaptive Campus web site user account, it will already work with the Marketingineducation.org web site.

We are just starting here, but with your help we can build a thriving community of education marketers with a wealth of shared resources. We will continue to add resources as they become available. We STRONGLY encourage you to join the site and contribute all that you can, as this is a community web site and you have the power to make this community stronger. Here are ways to get involved once your account is set up:

  • Contribute general thoughts in the forums and with your own blog
  • Contribute actual materials from your campaigns in the different categories (channels, customer segments, and education types)
  • Add commentary using the "add new comment" under every page on the site to lend your perspective and experience to what is provided or to ask questions to be answered by the community.
  • Vote on the occasion polls to help gauge where the community stands on important topics that affect your work.
  • For help with any of these activities, you can contact us with the contact form.
  • We welcome feedback on the site for how to improve it, additional resources to add or link to.

What resources are provided for you on this site:

  • Collections of resources (that you can contribute to) can be found through the directory, or through the main category pages (channels, customer segments, and education types). These categories are organized to help you find the information you seek in only the areas you have interest quickly.
  • View the most recent contributed resources. Most pages already list these contributed resources down the left or right column under "Recent Contributions", and it can be found on the home page.
  • Access the Marketing in Education Blog contributed from the Adaptive Campus web site and sharing tips to implement in your marketing campaigns.
  • Subscribe to any area of the site. The power of information is in your hands. Subscribe to one person's blog, one area of interest (such as just online education or just adult learners, or both), or to the entire web site. This allows you to give your email box a break from unwanted information and allows you to focus in on only the topics that you care about. As the site gets larger and filled to the brim with information, you will thank us for this feature!
  • Use the search form to find information across the site. On the search page, further improve your searching capabilities by clicking on "advanced search" under the main search box.
  • When you created your account, if you entered your contact information, you can click on those links and view other colleagues that share the same criteria. As this site grows out, this will become a useful tool for groups to collaborate locally and on projects of similar interest.
  • Recently added, REALLY COOL feature: Ever wonder how you web site ranks with Google? Use our GoogleRank tool to find out. The page also contains a host of tips for how to best utilize this simple but powerful tool.

Those are the main tips for this site, but many more will soon arrive. Future planned activities include:

  • We are looking for a webinar sponsor to provide software so that we can hold webinars from time to time. Perhaps the first topic could be "How to hold a webinar"... :-)
  • We will be adding a discussion listserv soon to facilitate discussions. We are currently working on setting it up so that the discussions are integrated with the site and actually feed an archive to the site for future visitors to view and participate in.
  • We have a lot of presentations that just need to be turned into a format to display on the site. We'll be adding those soon as well.
  • We will be setting up groups that have their own section of the site and can be run by you (if you are interested) and focused on your specific areas. These will be a great way to find out colleagues of like minds and even make a name for yourself in the community.
  • From time to time, we'll add new categories to the main groups, new poll questions, new surveys, and other similar aspects. We will be looking for your feedback in helping to shape this site to fit the communities needs the best. With Drupal (the content management system we are using this site), we have a very flexible system, so with a little effort we can create an area that works well for everyone.
  • Buyer's Corner - We don't want to leave vendors out. With our work, we certainly appreciate the helpful hand of a vendor. But we also don't want this site to become a big commercial that undermines the open nature we are trying to nurture.. So we are going to set up a special area for vendors to promote their wears and interact with the community. If you are a vendor, please use the contact form to let us know your interest and we will be sure to let you know when we've got this area of the site pulled together.
  • Business of Education - We are debating this one, but we thought it would be neat to have an area of the site that plugged you into the business side of the education community. One tool we could add is a stock market ticker that tracks any of the public companies that support education. We could also feed in news about these companies and about education business related topics in general.
  • And more to come...
